The New York Rangers carried much of the play in Game 3 but eventually lost to the Montreal Canadiens, yet it was difficult to beat Henrik Lundqvist up too much. Most of the goals he allowed lately have come on weird bounces.
When Lundqvist’s had a chance to make the save, he’s done it almost every time. That much seemed quite clear when he made this nice stop on Brian Gionta:
The Rangers head into the first period up 1-0, but the goalie on the other end is also difficult to lambaste. Dustin Tokarski probably didn’t have much of a chance on Carl Hagelin’s shorthanded goal:
Then again, in big games like these, it might come down to Lundqvist or Tokarski making saves they aren’t supposed to.
