L.A. Kings’ starter Jonathan Quick didn’t even make it to the midway mark against the Nashville Predators Saturday afternoon.
After Matt Greene opened the scoring 32 seconds into the first, the Preds responded with three unanswered goals chasing Quick at 9:43 of the opening frame.
Mike Fisher and Colin Wilson scored less than 90 seconds apart to give Nashville a 2-1 lead.
Then Ryan Ellis’ fourth of the season gave Nashville a 3-1 lead.
Kings’ coach Darryl Sutter had seen enough and signalled for a goaltending change.
Martin Jones came on in relief.
