Anfernee Simons teases what he has in store for the 2021 NBA Slam Dunk Contest

Northwest

Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons has been waiting for the opportunity to be in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest-- and this weekend a lifelong dream will come true.

After years of being overlooked, Simons got the call.

He'll be joined by Pacers wing Cassius Stanley and Knicks rookie big man Obi Toppin.

On Sunday, the NBA will #LetAntDunk.

The betting odds don't favor Anfernee Simons, though.

The Trail Blazers backup point guard, competing in his first dunk contest, is currently +250 to win the contest, the worst odds in the field.

So, as people continue to doubt him, Simons gave a little teaser of what he might have up his sleeve.

The hops!

A reminder that Simons is 6'4", the shortest of all the participants-- and he's getting that much air.

And yet...

The disrespect...

While not everyone is sold on Simons, his teammates, who see him everyday, are hyping him up.

The world is going to put some respect on Simons' name Sunday.

Count on it.
