On Monday night, the Cincinnati Bengals upset the Pittsburgh Steelers for their third straight loss since winning eleven straight games.
A solid early Christmas present for all Bengals fans, although they would most likely want their team to be competitive again and be in the playoffs.
Those hopes and dreams start with their new star quarterback Joe Burrow coming back next year healthy and better than ever.
The Bengals have a 3-10 record on the season and currently hold the No.3-overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft.
The quarterback issue has been solved for them, but now the attention is going to be on the offensive line. Burrow needs some much-needed protection if they want to succeed as a team. He was sacked 32 times before his injury.
The Bengals will most likely be the first team to pick a non-quarterback in the draft. In fact, one popular projection for the third pick has been Oregon Ducks offensive tackle Penei Sewell.
During the game against the Steelers, Bengals fans wanted to make it known that the organization should pick Sewell as their first pick.
Sporting a large sign that read “Penei for your thoughts”.
What should hype fans even more is that Sewell took to Instagram himself and acknowledged the support from the Bengals fans, teasing that he may want to go to Cincinnati.
Sewell opted out of this season due to the Covid-19 pandemic and to focus on his training. Last season, he was a unanimous All-American for the Ducks and won the Outland and Morris trophies - both offensive lineman awards.
If the Bengals were to draft Sewell, he would help the team on the left tackle position and help beef up Cincinnati’s offensive line.
