NBA News and Rumors: Could Melo suit up in a Blazers uniform?
NBA News and Rumors:
We’re nearly five weeks through the NBA season and the Jimmy Butler trade drama is finally over. The All-Star forward was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers this week, netting Robert Covington and Dario Saric to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Now, Draymond and KD feud news and Melo trade rumors are taking over the headlines.
Let’s get you caught up with all of the latest NBA news and rumors.
- Where is Melo headed next?
- Did Draymond really tell KD to leave?
- Could Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant join the Lakers?
- Will Kyle Korver join Jimmy Butler in Philly?
Possible NBA destinations for Melo
Carmelo Anthony is reportedly out in Houston, and will soon be looking for his next NBA home.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Anthony and the Rockets will part ways, but the veteran forward will remain on Houston’s roster for now.
SB Nation broke down a few possible destinations for Melo, including the Lakers, Warriors, Nets, Blazers, Wizards, Jazz, and Heat.
Anthony averaged just 13.4 points and 5.4 rebound with the Rockets in his 10-game stint.
Did Draymond really say THAT to KD?
By now, we all know what happened between Kevin Durant and Draymond Green. Following the loss to the Clippers on Monday, Green failed to pass the ball to Durant in the closing seconds of the game, and an argument ensued in the Warriors locker room.
The words exchanged between the two players led to a one-game suspension for Green.
On Thursday, Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports published a story on the feud, specifically sharing some of the words exchanged behind-the-scenes between the two players.
“Green blurted to Durant something along the lines of, ‘We don’t need you. We won without you. Leave,'” Haynes wrote, citing sources familiar with the situation.
It’s not for sure these were the exact words that came out of Draymond’s mouth, but the 107-86 loss to the Rockets shows the two Warriors players are still licking their wounds.
LeBron, KD and Anthony Davis: One big family
NBA free agent Jarrett Jack may have some insider information about the Lakers squad we didn’t know existed.
According to Jack’s Twitter, he believes LeBron James could soon welcome Warriors guard Kevin Durant and Pelicans forward Anthony Davis to the Lake Show.
“Man if y’all thought the league was in trouble before, they bout to mess around and have AD, KD and Bron all on the same team,” Jack said on social media.
This idea of Durant, LeBron and Davis on the same NBA team is certainly mind-blowing, but we’ll hold out for the official release to confirm this one.
Kyle Korver headed to Philly?
The Philadelphia 76ers may not be done making roster moves yet.
According to Marc Stein of The New York Times, the 76ers have shown interest in the Cleveland Cavaliers sharp-shooter Kyle Korver.
Philadelphia recently traded Dario Saric and Robert Covington to the Timberwolves in exchange for All-Star Jimmy Butler, leaving one roster sport open after the deal.
