Will Pittsburgh be saved by the Bell?
Are the Pittsburgh Steelers and Le’Veon Bell close to reuniting?
Bell shared a cryptic tweet on Monday bidding farewell to Miami with just eight days remaining to sign his franchise tender.
While it’s unclear if the Steelers running back is headed to Pittsburgh, he does have a deadline written into his collective-bargaining agreement that requires him to sign his franchise tag by November 13.
If Bell does not sign by then, he’ll lose his entire franchise tag salary and be ineligible to play in the NFL this season.
A.J. Green will miss games, but no surgery...for now
The Bengals will have to go without A.J. Green this week, and possibly the next few weeks too.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Green will miss “some games” as he continues to deal with a foot injury suffered in Week 8.
The star wide receiver will miss substantial time as the doctors re-evaluate his foot injury to see if he can play. The good news: Green’s foot won’t require surgery, according to coach Marvin Lewis.
In Green’s absence, the Bengals promoted wide receive Auden Tate from the practice squad. Up next, the Bengals will face the Saints and Ravens.
Is John Harbaugh in the hot seat?
The John Harbaugh era could soon come to a close. The Baltimore Ravens head coach is reportedly in the hot seat after dropping four of the Ravens last five games.
If Harbaugh is fired mid-season, it would be the first time since 1972 that a Ravens coach has been removed during a season.
The Ravens have already have a playoff drought of three-consecutive seasons, will Harbaugh survive to see a fourth?
Obi Melifonwu to join Tom Brady's tribe
Former Oakland Raiders safety Obi Melifonwu has reached an agreement to join the New England Patriots.
Melifonwu, a No. 56 pick by the Raiders in 2017, was released off IR in October. He played in five games, starting once, and recorded seven tackles before hip surgery ended his season.
The Patriots will hope to tap into Melifonwu’s freakishly good athletic talents. At the 2017 combine, he recorded a 4.40-second 40-yard dash and a 44” vertical jump.
