Oregon Ducks ranked No. 11 in preseason AP Poll, top Pac-12 team


After winning back-to-back Pac-12 championships under Mario Cristobal, the Oregon Ducks have tied its highest preseason ranking since 2015 when the program was ranked No. 7.

The Associated Press ranked the Ducks as the nation's No. 11 team having the program being named a top-12 program heading into the last three seasons. The last two years under Cristobal, the Ducks began the season ranked No. 11 and No. 12 respectively. The program has been ranked in the preseason 13 of the previous 14 seasons.

Oregon's the highest-ranked Pac-12 team with USC(15), Washington (20), Utah (24) and Arizona State (25) all representing the conference. UCLA also received two votes. 

Reigning national champions Alabama were ranked No. 1. Oklahoma, Clemson, Ohio State and Georgia round out the top-5, all receiving at least one first-place vote. 

Oregon and No. 4 Ohio State face-off Week 2 in Columbus, OH.

The USA Today Coaches poll ranked Oregon at No. 12. 

The Ducks open the season September 4th at Autzen Stadium against Fresno State.
