One of the most frustrating, non-blocks you’ll ever see at Oregon. The No. 1 Ducks were hosting the No. 14 Stanford Cardinal in Eugene, Oregon. Quarterback Marcus Mariota was running down the right sideline when wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas flat out missed a wide open block. Mariota would have scored but instead was tackled around the 10-yard-line.

Why didn’t he block that Stanford defender?!?!

The Ducks ended up getting upset at home for their only loss of the season.

Freshman quarterback Justin Herbert and the unranked Ducks were struggling in what ended up being a 4-8 season. But the Ducks shocked the Pac-12 conference and the national rankings with an upset win on the road against the No. 11 Utah Utes.

But there was one moment in that game that we’ll never know the answer too: did Dillon Mitchell touch the ball on that punt?

It was unclear if Mitchell touched the ball after he signaled for a fair catch as it flew over his head. The ball rolled into the endzone and was ruled a touchback on the field. After the review, the officials overturned the call and there was a clear recovery by the Utes in the endzone and therefore a touchdown. Utah took a 21-17 lead midway through the fourth.

If Mitchell didn’t touch it, why run back after it? Only he knows if he actually touched it or not.

The No. 2 Oregon Ducks were facing the No. 1 Auburn Tigers in the BCS National Championship game. With just over two minutes left in the game, and the score tied 19-19, quarterback Cam Newton handed the ball off to running back Michael Dyer.

Dyer was spun down and looked to get tackled, but was he really? Only Dyer will know if any part of his body hit the grass.

The run put the Tigers in field goal range and eventually a win over Oregon, 22-19.

The first game of the 2009 season started off with a bang. In an ugly offensive performance from quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, the Ducks lost 8-19 on the road on the Smurf Turf at Boise State.

But when both teams met on the field for postgame handshakes, running back LeGarrett Blount threw and landed a punch on a Boise State player. It looked like Broncos’ Byron Hout said something to Blount which resulted in the punch, but what exactly did he say?

Only the two players know.

Date: All season long?

After the Oregon Ducks recorded a 4-8 season - a losing season which hadn’t happened in quite some time - coaching changes were made. Head coach Mark Helfrich was fired. After a long search, Oregon Athletic Director Rob Mullens decided on Willie Taggart, who came from South Florida, as the 33rd head coach in program history.

What conspired next was a season of promise and questionable moments.

The Ducks were back in the win column and finished with a 7-6 overall record and 6-1 at home. Meanwhile, across the country, the Florida State Seminoles were falling apart.

Was Taggart keeping always keeping an eye on that program and what was happening over there?

At what point in the Oregon season was Taggart interviewing for the head coach job that was soon to be vacant? When those rumors started to float around late in the season, Taggart refused to address them head on.

He didn’t even stay with Oregon to coach in the Ducks’ Las Vegas Bowl appearance. He had already departed for his “dream job” at FSU after he was officially hired on December 5, 2017.
