CJ Verdell will not play in Pac-12 Championship for Oregon Ducks

Oregon running back CJ Verdell entered this 2020 college football season having ran for 1,000+ yards in back-to-back seasons.

But now, it appears the Ducks will need to win the Pac-12 without him with James Crepea of The Oregonian reporting he hasn't seen Verdell warming up on the field ahead of the conference championship.

Crepea later confirmed Verdell will not play in the Pac-12 Championship Game.

Verdell has 285 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 65 carries this season and has added nine catches for 96 yards.

He's been dealing with injuries since leaving the rivalry game against Oregon State on November 27 early and seeing limited work against Cal the following weekend, carrying the ball just six times for eight yards.

Following the Beavers game, Cristobal said Verdell “will be okay. He got dinged up in the game a little bit.”

Oregon plays USC in the Pac-12 Championship Game on Friday, December 18th at 5:00 p.m. PT on Fox.
