Months after retiring from the NFL, Drew Brees made a surprise appearance at Los Angeles Chargers training camp to pose with the reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, Justin Herbert.

"There's no doubt his physical tools are as good as anybody I've ever seen," Brees said via Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times.
"By all accounts, he's a great worker, he's got great leadership qualities, he's got a lot of intangibles.
Additionally, Brees spoke highly of new Chargers offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi, who was Brees' quarterbacks coach for ten seasons.
"I think he brings a ton of knowledge and experience, not only coaching quarterbacks but also within the system that we ran," Brees said. "I think he'll be able to tailor make that for Justin's skills and the tools he has around him."
Herbert added Brees is "a guy that I’m gonna reach out to continuously" while learning the offense and improving as an NFL quarterback.
