Former Duck Minyon Moore joins Sacramento State as assistant coach

Another Duck alumnus has joined the Sacramento State women's basketball program.

The Hornets hired former Oregon associate head coach Mark Campbell last week and since then has brought over numerous familiar faces such as assistant coach Xavi Lopez and now, former Oregon point guard Minyon Moore.

"I am incredibly excited to add Minyon to our coaching staff," said Campbell on Thursday via a release. "She was a winner, a leader, and a warrior on the court, and I know all of those attributes will translate to her coaching career. She is going to be an incredible mentor to our players."

Moore grew up in Sacramento and played for the Cal Stars (AAU), winning a Nike EYBL national title alongside Sabrina Ionescu in 2015.

She spent three seasons at USC before transferring to Oregon for her senior season. While in Eugene, she led Oregon in steals, started all 33 games, and was an All-Pac-12 Defensive Team selection for the third time.

Moore's former teammate Taylor Chavez was hyped for her hiring.

Congrats Minyon!
