The game that we’ve all had circled on our calendars is finally here.
Two of the top women’s hoops powerhouse programs in the country finally on display. The No. 11 Oregon Ducks are just hours away from tip-off against the undefeated No. 1 Stanford Cardinal in Santa Cruz, California.
You’re gonna want to tune in for this one.
The Oregon Ducks are coming off their first loss of this 2020-21 season last Sunday to then-No. 11 UCLA. It was a hard-fought game to the very end. The Ducks were without Sedona Prince (ankle) and Taylor Chavez (personal issue), but on Tuesday, head coach Kelly Graves said that Chavez would be available for Stanford. Prince is “day-to-day, week-to-week.”
“Sedona is still day-to-day, week-to-week kind of process. We’re gonna get her back here soon, but when, I don’t know. We sure need her because she brings something so unique to our team and it’s a matchup advantage for us every game,” said Graves on this week’s Talkin’ Ducks with host Jordan Kent.
The Ducks could use Prince in the paint on both ends of the floor against these skilled Cardinal forwards featuring 6’1” forward Francesca Belibi, 6’4” forward Cameron Brink and 6’5” forward Ashten Prechtel.
On the other hand, Stanford looks unstoppable this year. From top to bottom of the roster, this team is stacked with talent and veteran leadership.
This should be a good one showcasing two of the top teams in the Pac-12 Conference.
