Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon is one of the most historic track and field venues in the world.
From Bill Bowerman, the birth of Nike, Steve Prefontaine and countless Olympians taking the track, it's no wonder Eugene is nicknamed Track Town USA.
Now, after a lengthy renovation project, Hayward Field is perhaps the most state of the track venue in the entire world.
Lewis Johnson of NBC Sports toured the venue last month and he joined Talkin' Ducks with Jordan Kent this week to talk all about it.
"I've never seen anything like it," said Johnson. That's saying something. Johnson has covered numerous Olympics, hundred of track and field events all over the world, and he says Hayward Field is the cream of the crop.
It will be put on full display this weekend for Team USA Track and Field Trials and for years to come as Oregon builds on its historic track and field program. If you ask Lewis, Hayward Field will give the Ducks a major recruiting advantage.
"For any recruit that goes to Oregon (on a visit)... if he or she has a question about what they wanna do after that- a question - thank you very much, we'll see ya later because if you don't know by then you weren't sure when you got there."
