Duck fans rejoice. We are now getting Marcus Mariota vs. Justin Herbert for Thursday Night Football.
As the Chargers and Raiders are facing off in primetime in Week 15, two Oregon Ducks star quarterbacks are under center.
Raiders starting QB Derek Carr suffered a groin injury in the first quarter when he pulled up on a run near the goal-line. He went to the locker room following the injury and the Raiders listed him as questionable to return to the game.
Mariota was active for the first time as a Raider last week vs. the Jets. The former Ducks quarterback suffered a strained pectoral in training camp and was placed on IR in September before moving back to the active roster in October.
Herbert, who played for the Ducks from 2016-2019, grew up in Eugene a huge Oregon football fan, which included attending games at Autzen Stadium during Mariota's Heisman campaign in 2014.
Now, both quarterbacks are in the NFL repping the green and yellow at the pro level. This should be good, Duck fans.
It didn't take long for Mariota to score his first touchdown. He found tight end Darren Waller for a 35-yard dime to give the Raiders a 10-7 lead with 3 minutes to play in the second quarter.
Now, it's Herbert's turn.
