Minnesota Vikings place rookie linebacker Troy Dye on Injured Reserve

Add Troy Dye’s name to the long list of injured players after week two of NFL action.

The Minnesota Vikings and former Oregon Duck linebacker was set to make his first career NFL start against the Tennessee Titans this Sunday following a season-ending injury to seven-year veteran Anthony Barr.

Dye was selected in the fourth round (No. 132 overall) in the 2020 NFL Draft and has so far seen time on special teams in Minnesota.

Unfortunately, the injury bug strikes again.

On Thursday, the Vikings placed Dye on the Injured Reserve list and have signed former Denver Broncos linebacker Todd Davis.

According to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press in Minnesota, Dye's injury is a mid-foot sprain that occurred on a punt last Sunday. Dye got his ankle taped and returned to the game, but the swelling didn't stop.

Hoping for a healthy, speedy recovery for the former Oregon Duck.
