Sabrina Ionescu isn’t the only recent Oregon Duck repping Nike at the pro level.
Payton Pritchard, the former Oregon product turned Boston Celtics rising star, has reportedly signed an endorsement deal with the athletic footwear and apparel giant, according to Nick DePaula of ESPN.
As DePaula noted, rockin’ Nike kicks is nothing new for Pritchard. The West Linn, Oregon native, who was selected 26th overall in the 2020 NBA Draft, has been donning his Oregon men’s basketball PEs all season long.
It helps that his pro team also shares the same color scheme as his beloved Ducks.
Pritchard continues to impress in his first year in the league. On April 23 vs. the Brooklyn Nets, the 23-year-old recorded his fifth-straight performance in double figures.
Pritchard dropped 22 points while adding three rebounds, two assists and one block in 23 minutes off the bench. He also downed an impressive 6-of-7 three-pointers from behind the arc. Not bad for the rook.
The league is taking notice, and it's no surprise Nike wants to hop on that bandwagon too. Pritchard is the future.
