The Oregon women’s basketball team is coming off a split weekend defeating the USC Trojans and narrowly losing to then-No. 11 UCLA at home at Matthew Knight Arena.
Now, after dropping three spots in the latest AP Poll Top-25 rankings, the No. 11 Ducks turn the page to their biggest game this season: the No. 1 Stanford Cardinal in Santa Cruz, California.
On Monday, it was announced that the Ducks and Cardinal will tip-off at 11:30 a.m. (PT) on Friday, January 8. The game will be on Pac-12 Network.
Not to look on the downside here, but shouldn’t this elite matchup featuring some of the best players and teams not just in the Pac-12 conference but on the national stage have a better tip-off time than before noon on a Friday?
Seems kinda lame.
But it shouldn’t take away from the insane matchup this game presents.
These two teams have been at the top of the Pac-12 conference for some time now, each reloading year after year with one of the best recruiting classes and being two of the most dominant programs in all of women’s college hoops.
No word yet if Sedona Prince will be available for the game, but her size and talent will be much needed in the paint against 6’5” forward Ashten Prechtel, 6’4” forward Cameron Brink and 6’1” forward Francesca Belibi.
You’re definitely going to want to tune into this one, even if it is on your work lunch break.
