National Signing Day was Wednesday and CSNNW.com has mini-profiles of each member of the Oregon Ducks' 2016 recruiting class.
Player: Justin Herbert.
Height/weight: 6-6, 215.
Rivals.com star rating: 3-stars.
Out of: Sheldon High School, Eugene.
Accolades: Southwest Conference offensive player of the year. First-team 6A all-state after passing for 3,130 yards and 37 touchdowns. Led Irish to the 2015 6A state semifinals. Had 10 touchdown passes over first two games of junior season before missing the rest of the year with a leg injury. Also starred in basketball and baseball.
UO coach Mark Helfrich said: “Just a guy that does everything really well. Talk to everyone in that school, everybody who has been around him and his family, they just light up. Whether it’s something he’s done off the field, or baseball, basketball, football, his brothers, it’s really neat to see how excited they are for him to be in the program…Is a guy that I feel has unlimited potential.”
2016 impact: Likely a redshirt year for Herbert, who along with incoming freshman quarterback Terry Wilson will benefit greatly from a year under new quarterbacks coach David Yost.
