Chris Duarte was not the only Oregon Duck to realize his dream Thursday night.

While Eugene Omoruyi did not go drafted during the 2021 NBA Draft, the redshirt senior was signed as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Mavericks, as reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 6’6”, 235-pound redshirt-senior forward transferred from Rutgers and had to sit out all last season. His junior season, Omoruyi averaged 13.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.

Omoruyi was not expected to be drafted due to being 6'6" but having the speed to play the 4 or 5 in the NBA, he was likely to receive a Summer League invite to play his way into an NBA contract.

Last season, he averaged 17.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 47.3 percent from the field in 28 games for Oregon. In his final game as a Duck, the senior forward had a double-double, 28 points and 10 rebounds as Oregon’s Sweet 16 loss.
