Coming off back-to-back Pac-12 Championships, the Associated Press expects Oregon to be among the best teams in the Pac-12 this season with a preseason ranking of No. 20.
The only Pac-12 team ranked ahead of Oregon is Arizona State at No. 17. Besides the Ducks and Sun Devils, the only other ranked Pac-12 team is UCLA at No. 22 with Stanford receiving 14 votes.
While players Oregon lost this past offseason is headlined by Payton Pritchard, who was arguably the best point guard in college basketball last season, the Ducks lost other notable contributors including Shakur Juiston, Anthony Mathis, CJ Walker, Addison Patterson, and Francis Okoro.
But it's never rebuilding time in Eugene with Dana Altman in charge. Instead, he reloads and aims to win the Pac-12 year in and year out.
Next season, Altman will lean on Chris Duarte, Will Richardson, Chandler Lawson, and N'Faly Daunte to lead the team with help from transfer guard and reigning MAAC Rookie of the Year Aaron Estrada.
The only incoming freshman the Ducks took in this season is guard Jalen Terry, but Oregon currently has the top-ranked recruiting class for 2021 in the nation according to ESPN.
The college basketball season begins on November 25th.
