The No. 13 Oregon Ducks were double-digit favorites on Saturday vs. the visiting Cal Bears.
The students are back, the weather was perfect, Cal started its backup quarterback... this wasn't supposed to be close. And yet, it was.
The Ducks edged out a 17-7 win after being held scorless in the first half.

Once again, this Ducks defense proved it's on another level this season. One of the main reasons? Troy Dye. The senior linebacker decided to forgo the 2019 NFL Draft and return to Oregon for his senior season. From dancing along to "Shout" and recording his first interception of this season, Dye is making an impact all over the field.

True freshman Mycah Pittman saw his first action in an Oregon uniform since coming off a shoulder injury he sustained prior to the start of the season. The hype is real surrounding this young prodigy, and Pittman is already a crowd favorite.

Cristobal lauded the catches by @MycahPittman but said more than anything he's happy to see him finally get to play, because "it means the world to him. Being a member of this football program and this team, this family, means the world to him." #GoDucks— Rob Moseley (@DuckFootball) October 6, 2019
