Payton Pritchard to the rescue!!
The former Oregon Duck and local West Linn, Oregon product is transitioning nicely to the pro level.
Yes, Payton Pritchard is making a strong case for Rookie of the Year in this very young season.
In his three regular season appearances for the Boston Celtics, Prichard has shown off his play-making ability while scoring in a variety of ways.
In four games so far, he is averaging 8.3 points while scoring a total of 33 points for third best among rookies only behind the No. 1 and No. 2 overall picks.
Boston defeated Indiana Tuesday night in big thanks to Jayson Tatum’s 27 points (9-for-17 shooting) and 11 rebounds.
But the Cs also had Payton Pritchard to thank in the victory with his 10 points, five boards and five assists that he notched off the bench. With Kemba Walker still rehabbing his left knee that has made way for Pritchard and he is making the most of his opportunity.
Pritchard has brought it on the defensive end as well, averaging 1.5 steals per game.
The backup guard brought the energy once again Tuesday and Celtics fans are quickly seeing why he was a fan favorite in Eugene, Oregon.
