It has been 10 days since the Oregon men’s basketball team took the floor, but that didn’t stop the Ducks from rising in the latest AP Poll rankings that were released on Monday.
The Ducks (6-1 overall, 1-0 Pac-12 play) jumped four spots up to No. 21 in this week’s rankings.
The reigning Pac-12 champs are the only Pac-12 team represented in the AP Poll rankings this week.
Should Pac-12 play resume this week, Oregon is scheduled to host the Cal Golden Bears (5-4, 0-2 Pac-12) and the Stanford Cardinal (5-2, 1-0 Pac-12 Play). The Bears have lost to both Arizona State and UCLA, and the Cardinal defeated Arizona.
Oregon’s roster is nearly full strength with transfers Aaron Estrada and L.J. Figueroa now active due to the NCAA clearing all waivers and allowing for immediate eligibility for this 2020-2021 college basketball season.
Unfortunately, sophomore center N’Faly Dante is out for the season after suffering an ACL injury against San Francisco.
But the Ducks should also be just a few weeks away from hopefully having junior guard Will Richardson back with the team after he underwent successful thumb surgery back in early December.
Redshirt-senior forward Eugene Omoruyi is third in the conference in points per game (18.1) while senior guard Chris Duarte is also third in the conference in steals per game (1.9). As a team, the Ducks are third in the conference in scoring (77.4) behind USC and Colorado.
