The 2020-2021 college men’s basketball season is less than two weeks away!
On October 29, the Pac-12 conference announced and released a conference schedule beginning the first week of December. The No. 20 Oregon Ducks - picked to finish third in the conference behind UCLA and Arizona State in the preseason media polls - will face the Washington Huskies in Seattle, Washington on December 8, 2021.
And finally, we now have a non-conference schedule beginning on Wednesday, November 25.
The Ducks will open the 2020-21 season by hosting Eastern Washington Nov. 25 at Matthew Knight Arena.
It will be the fourth meeting between Oregon and EWU with the Ducks leading the series 3-0. The two teams last met Nov. 9, 2018, in Eugene. Will Richardson - then just a freshman - recorded five points and two assists in the 81-47 Oregon win.
Then, Oregon will travel to the east coast for a tournament called ‘Bubbleville” located at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Bubbleville is a collegiate event hosted by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and Gazelle Group that will feature 40 men’s and women’s teams playing a combined 45 games over 11 days (Nov. 25-Dec. 5). It takes the place of several events that were altered due to the COVID-19 pandemic and will be conducted under tribal, government, and NCAA health and safety protocols and testing requirements. Games will be played without fans in attendance.
Oregon will play Missouri on either December 2 or 3 and a second opponent (not yet determined) on the other day. The Ducks and Tigers have met up five times in history with Missouri winning all five contests.
Other schools invited are: No. 2 Baylor, No. 3 Villanova, No. 4 Virginia, and No. 18 Arizona State.
Bubbleville is an amazing name for this event.
