Oregon Track and Field star Micah Williams still can't believe he's heading to Tokyo Olympics

Oregon Track and Field star Micah Williams is soaking it all in ahead of his trip to the Tokyo Olympics.

Williams, a graduate of Benson High School in Portland, is a three-time Gatorade Oregon Boy’s Track and Field Runner of the Year from 2017—20.

The Oregon freshman made history at the Olympic Trials and is now heading to the Olympics after securing a spot in the Team USA relay pool going to Tokyo.

Williams explained to Jordan Kent on the latest Talkin’ Ducks his excitement ahead of this year’s Summer Games.

“It really hasn’t hit me yet, actually,” Williams said. “I feel like I’m in shock and that I’m still training for a regular meet.”

When I get down there, I’ll probably be in shock.

Williams set records last month with his fifth-place finish in the final of the men’s 100 meters during the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials at Hayward Field.

The 19-year-old finished fifth in the men’s 100m final with a time of 9.91, a personal best and an Oregon Ducks school record for 100m times.

“The school record thing, that was crazy because I did not expect that… I was just going in to run for the team… It was pretty crazy,” Williams said.
