The Oregon Ducks women’s basketball team faced three ranked opponents in the span of one week.
Sorry, let us rephrase that: The Oregon Ducks women’s basketball team absolutely dominated three ranked opponents in the span of one week: then-No. 4 UConn (74-56); then-No. 12 Arizona (85-52); and then-No. 19 Arizona State (79-48). Against those three teams, Oregon outscored its opponents by a total score of 238-156.
Despite this performance, the Ducks remain at No. 3 in this week’s AP Poll Top-25 rankings.
Ahead of the Ducks in the rankings is No. 1 South Carolina (22-1, 10-0 SEC), coming off an 86-65 win over No. 25 Arkansas; and No. 2 Baylor (21-1, 10-0 Big 12), coming off a 54-40 win over Kansas State.
The Pac-12 teams in this week’s rankings include: No. 3 Oregon; No. 7 UCLA; No. 8 Stanford; No. 11 Oregon State; No. 12 Arizona; and No. 22 Arizona State.
Good news for the Ducks continues to be their strength of schedule and how good the Pac-12 conference remains to be. UCLA rose in the rankings this week to No. 7 and No. 8 Stanford is two weeks away.
As of this week’s rankings, Baylor will not face anymore ranked opponents this regular season. South Carolina will face No. 18 Kentucky and No. 16 Texas A&M.
UP NEXT: The Ducks fly south to face the Los Angeles schools starting with No. 7 UCLA (21-2, 10-2 Pac-12) on Friday, tip-off set for 8 p.m. (PT) at Pauley Pavilion.
