Sabrina Ionescu is the G.O.A.T for a reason.
She is one of the greatest athletes to ever play for the University of Oregon and is one of the most popular figures in the WNBA.
On Friday night, the night the WNBA opened its 25th season, Ionescu took center stage with her New York Liberty facing off against the Indiana Fever.
The game itself was great but it will be remembered for what happened in the final five seconds.
With the two teams tied at 87 with five seconds left in the game, New York had one final chance at victory. Ionescu stepped up to the plate and drained the game-winning three with 0.4 remaining. The shot was absolutely incredible.
Ionescu proved that she has ice water in her veins, and after missing nearly her entire rookie season while nursing an ankle injury, it was an amazing return to the court. With 25 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists against the Fever, Ionescu put the league on notice.
Social media took notice too. Fans, teammates, and even former coach Kelly Graves had Twitter on fire following the big-time game-winner.
Welcome back, Queen.
