Sabrina Ionescu has still got it, even after the ankle injury

There have been countless highlight videos of Sabrina Ionescu throughout her prestigious basketball career and a majority of them show that the triple-double queen flat out does not miss.

That time where she casually drained 14 corner three-pointers in a row at practice or the time where she hit a shot sitting on the bench…

Ionescu puts in time in the gym and it shows.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft was off to a Sabrina-like start to her professional career but then suffered a season-ending ankle injury in just her third game.

In her debut against the Seattle Storm, Ionescu recorded 12 points, six assists and four rebounds. But the stat that really stands out is going 0-for-8 from three-point range. That changed two days later. Against the Dallas Wings, Ionescu dropped 33 points, hitting 6-for-10 from three-point range, and had seven assists and seven rebounds.

Unfortunately, then the injury came on July 31 and her first year in the WNBA was done.

Four months and one minor surgery later, and Ionescu is back in the gym looking like her old self again:

A good sight to see for not just the New York Liberty organization but for basketball fans everywhere.

The Liberty finished in last with a 2-20 record in the 2020 season, but the WNBA Draft lottery will take place on Friday, Dec. 4 to continue to process of building around Ionescu.

Glad to see Sabrina back in the gym.
