Well, that did not take long.

Just five days into being allowed to host official visits, the Oregon Ducks landed a commitment from three-star 2022 defensive lineman Sir Mells after an official visit on Friday.

The 6'4", 310-pound Nevada native is ranked as a three-star prospect in both composite ranking (nation's No. 789 player, No. 111 DL) and 247Sports evaulation (nation's No. 127 DL).

He had official visits scheduled for Michigan on June 18th and Maryland on June 25th prior to his commitment. 247Sports crystal ball predictions were 100% in favor of Washington as Blair Angulo gave his call a level-8 confidence score in November 2020.

Mells committed to Washington in December before de-commiting in February, ten days after receiving an Oregon offer.

He holds offers from Arizona, Washington, Michigan, USC, Oregon State, Maryland, and more.

Mells was a high school teammate of current Oregon tight end Moliki Matavao at Liberty High School.

With his commitment, Oregon has eight verbal commitments for the class of 2022 with a national ranking of No. 21 and Pac-12 ranking of No. 1.
