After the announcement of getting benched this Sunday vs. the Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota could be on his way out of Nashville.

The five-year starter has battled with a poor offensive line as well as a coaching carousel throughout his career with the Titans. Oregon Ducks fans know the caliber player that Mariota is and although the college and NFL games are different, it never really seemed that Mariota got the chance to show the NFL world what he can do.

Tennessee will start Ryan Tannehill on Sunday.

Mariota becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2020. Here is a list of potential teams that could land the former Heisman Trophy winner and overall No. 2 draft pick in the 2015 NFL Draft…

Mitchell Trubisky has struggled. The former No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft is 15-11 over two seasons. This year alone, Trubisky has thrown just three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Also of note, Bears offensive coordinator is Mark Helfrich, who was Oregon’s OC before appointed to head coach from 2013-2016. He recruited Mariota to Oregon. They know how to operate an offense with one another and have a relationship outside football.

Tom Brady has to retire at some point, right?

The 42-year-old, six-time Super Bowl champion shows no signs of slowing down. The future Hall of Famer signed a two-year contract extension in August 2019. The Patriots also drafted quarterback Jarrett Stidham (Auburn) in the 2019 NFL Draft to hopefully be the successor to Brady.

But just imagine Mariota in Bill Belichick’s system….

This has been a quarterback circus for some time now. Since the departure of Ryan Tannehill (who will be starting for Tennessee on Sunday in replace of Mariota), the Dolphins have Ryan Fitzpatrick and new acquired Josh Rosen.

However, the Dolphins do have the No. 1 and No. 8 picks in the 2020 NFL Draft and selected a quarterback at either of those may solve their QB solution.

31-year-old Andy Dalton hasn’t done much in his career with the Bengals. Dalton becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2021.

The Bengals QB depth chart includes Dalton, rookie Ryan Finley (NC State) and rookie Jake Dolegada (Central Connecticut State).

37-year-old Philip Rivers has held the Chargers reigns for He will become an unrestricted free agent in 2020.

Also on the Chargers' quarterback depth chart is Tyrod Taylor, who has starting experience with the Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns.

The Broncos are in search for their next great franchise quarterback and has big shoes to fill. From John Elway to Peyton Manning, a player like Mariota could fit in nicely in that organization. Currently, the Broncos have Joe Flacco and Brandon Allen, but have made it clear that the quarterback position remains not solid with either those two.

Also, it would be cool to see a starting backfield of Marcus Mariota and Royce Freeman, two former Oregon Ducks that only crossed paths for one season (which happened to be the season the Ducks defeated the Florida State Seminoles in the Rose Bowl in 2015).
