The Top-10 Oregon Ducks uniforms from the 2000s
In honor of The Uniform Craze That Revolutionized College Football, an NBC Sports NW podumentary on the Sports Uncovered podcast feed, we're going to break down the 10 best uniform combinations in Oregon football since January 1st, 2000 to December 31, 2009.
Now, this is not a definitive list obviously with Oregon having hundreds of uniform combinations, but these were the ones that stuck out.
If you disagree with any, feel free to tell us your favorites on Twitter by tweeting us @NBCSNorthwest!
10. 2001 Home
Opening up the list are the home uniforms from arguably the best Oregon Ducks team of all time, the 2001 Oregon Ducks.
Everyone in Eugene had a Joey Harrington, or should I say Joey Heisman, jersey in the early 2000s.
9. 2005 Holiday Bowl
While the result isn't anything to write home about, the 2005 Holiday Bowl saw some of Oregon's best uniforms of the decade utilizing a white on black combination that would be nearly perfected in the next decade.
After the 2001 team, some thought that Nike may have been trying too hard to rebrand Oregon but these kits showed the company still had it.
8. 2001 Away
The best uniforms from the 2001 season where the team's road uniforms.
As a guy who is a sucker for a good away jersey, the simple white, green, black combination is timeless.
7. 2007 Away
When traveling to the Big Hosue in 2007, the Ducks arrived in style.
Not only to the Big House but to the national scene, by blowing out the Wolverines 39-7.
If Dennis Dixon doesn't get hurt many feel that Oregon wins the National Championship this season.
6. 2007 Washington
A tradition began in 2007 up in Seattle.
This was the first time Oregon debuted the all-white uniform combination used for the team's largest road game of the season.
This places higher than the normal white road uniforms for starting a tradition still present today in the program.
5. 2009 Arizona
Not only one of the best Oregon Ducks games of the decade, but one of the best uniform combinations as well.
Oregon kept their Pac-10 Championship hopes alive in Tucson in a crazy, 2OT 44-41 victory against the Arizona Wildcats.
The winged Ducks uniforms are some of my favorites, as you'll be able to tell, and I love the combination of white on black.
4. 2009 USC
Hosting USC on Halloween many expected Oregon to debut some crazy uniform combination.
Instead, they went with a traditional green jersey and black pants as their real costume was Pac-10 Champions.
The Ducks blew out No. 5 USC 47-20 to get in the driver's seat to make the program's first Rose Bowl since 1995, which they did.
3. 2008 Arizona
The debut of the wings was one to remember.
The all-black with silver numbers and wings were easy on the eyes and were so well-received that they became the default uniform for Oregon the next season.
2. 2009 Civil War
This was the second time in the 2009 season that Oregon used throwback uniforms, this time with a more modern black O logo and white pants.
It's only a matter of time before we see a similar design again.
1. 2009 California
Ironically, the two best uniforms of the 2000s decade were both throwback uniforms with the crown jewel being Oregon's 1998 throwbacks against Cal in 2009.
Announced just a few days before getting ready to host then-No. 5 California, the uniforms seemed to be magical.
Oregon dominated the Golden Bears 42-3 and donned the decade's best uniform combination while doing so.
