What a year it was for Oregon States Adley Rutschman. On Wednesday he got the hardware to prove it. The Pac-12 announced its yearly honors and Rutschman's name was all over the board.
Rutschman was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year, Co-Defensive Player of the Year, and was the Pac-12 Batting Champion. I'd call that a clean sweep.
Oregon State's star catcher batted .419 on the season, the fourth best batting average in the nation, and led the nation with a .580 on-base percentage.
Rutschman is just the second player to be named to both the Pac-12 Player of the Year and Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, and the second season in a row he earned the All-Pac-12 honors.
With the MLB Draft coming up next week, Rutschman, the consensus No.1 prospect in the draft, could add another impressive accolade to his incredible season.
