Oregon State Beavers

The Beavers defense balled out in Berkeley.

Many have criticized the Oregon State (3-4, 2-2 Pac-12) defense lately but they proved themselves against Cal (4-3, 1-3 Pac-12). They held Cal’s offense to only 17 points, a season low for a Power 5 Beavers opponent this season. Their front seven domianted with a season-high nine sacks and 14 tackles for loss giving them 50 tackles for loss on the season. The Beavers had 53 all of last season.

Redshirt freshman outside linebacker Riley Sharp finished the game with five tackles including three sacks. He spoke about the Beavers mindset going into the second half with a 14-3 lead.

We knew this game was ours...We just had the mindset that we are going to win this game and we’d do whatever it takes to do that...
