The Bill O’Brien era for the Houston Texans finally came to a close after the team couldn’t get a single after the first four weeks.
In the offseason, O’Brien traded for Oregon State alum wide receiver Brandin Cooks to add more depth after trading away DeAndre Hopkins.
In this first four games under O’Brien, Cooks didn’t see much action on the field. He only had 10 catches for 138 yards and zero touchdowns.
Now that O’Brien is out of the picture, Cooks has become the offensive weapon the team hoped he would be.
In the last two games, Cooks has 17 catches for 229 yards and two touchdowns.
In Week 5 against the Jaguars - the only win so far for the Texans - had himself over 161 yards in the game.
For Cooks, it seems it just waiting for his opportunity to shine. And once O’Brien was officially about of the building, it was just him time to shine.
Look for quarterback Deshaun Watson using Cooks for the reminder of the season as his favorite target.
