The Golden State Warriors don't look anywhere close to the way they did during their championship days, but they compete as much as they can.
And now they are adding some help by filling in one of their two roster spots.
The Warriors are signing former Oregon State Beavers G Gary Payton II to a 10-day contract, according to multiple reports.
Last season for the Washington Wizards, Payton averaged 3.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.1 steals in 29 games.
He shot 41.4 percent overall from the field and 28.3 percent from beyond the arc.
Payton played in the G League bubble earlier this year for the Raptors 095, where he averaged 11.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.5 steals in 13 games.
He was named G League Defensive Player of the Year.
The former Beaver will be under contract through the Warriors game at the Boston Celtics next Saturday. After that, the Warriors will decide if they want to keep Payton and sign him to another contract.
