The Oregon State men’s basketball team is adding a new player to their roster this next season.
On Thursday, former Marquette player Dexter Akanno announced on his Instagram that he will be transferring to the Beavers and will be heading to Corvallis.
After redshirting during the 2019-20 season for developmental reasons, the 6-4 California native averaged 0.7 points and 0.5 rebounds in 12 games in this past season for the Golden Eagles.
With Akanno on the team, the Beavers have not exhausted all 13 of its allotted scholarships for this coming season.
Akanno will be the seventh newcomer to the Beavers roster and is the fifth Division I transfer to join the team.
He will be joining a backcourt that includes returnees, Jarod Lucas and Gianni Hunt.
