Oregon State's loss will be the NFL's gain.
Beavers standouts Hamilcar Rashed Jr. and Nahshon Wright both took to social media on Tuesday to give Beavers Nation the news they expected but hoped not to hear: The pair would be declaring for the NFL draft.
Two key members of the defensive unit, it's no surprise at all that they would take their talents to the next level.
While he may have had a tough season this year, Rashed Jr. was one of the best linebackers in the country just a season ago.
The 2019 All-American and All-Conference defender ends his career at Oregon State with 144 tackles, 37 for loss and 16.5 sacks.
Rashed posted the following statement on Twitter:
Pairing with Rashed Jr. on defense over the last two seasons was Nahshon Wright.
Wright, a junior college transfer came to Oregon State in 2019 and had an immediate impact.
Over his two seasons, Wright totaled 64 tackles, 11 pass deflections and five interceptions.
Like Rashed Jr., Wright made the announcement on Twitter:
Beavers games won't be the same without these two ball hawks, but Beaver Nation can't wait to see what they do on Sundays!
