The Portland Thorns keep on rolling!

The Thorns (4-2-0) defeated Kansas City NWSL (0-2-4) 1-0 Sunday afternoon in front of a raucous and loud home crowd at Providence Park. Their winning goal came from Simone Charley in first half stoppage time, thanks to a perfect assist from Crystal Dunn.

The Thorns extend their winning streak to three games, and now sit on top of the NWSL table with 12 points.

It was a passing clinic for the Thorns, winning that category 371-280 and having an accuracy of 75.2% to 63.6%. The team also won the possession battle 58.4% to 41.6%.

Fresh off a clean sheet for the USWNT against Jamaica, goalkeeper Adrianna Franch was lights out in net, recording five saves and the Thorns defense earned their fourth shutout of the season.

Their next game will be June 26 on the road against North Carolina Courage (2-1-2).
