Tobin Heath has already found success overseas following her stint playing for the Portland Thorns.
The two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup Champion decided to sign with Manchester United in England rather than return to Portland this fall.
“Manchester United is an exceptional club and I’m thrilled to be joining them,” said Heath. “I’m looking forward to the challenge of competing in England, playing with and against some of the best players in the world."
Now a month after her decision, she's becoming a hot commodity in England with her Manchester United jersey outselling her male counterparts, including Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, per Mike Keegan at The Daily Mail.
"Manchester United's double swoop for top US Women stars Christen Press and Tobin Heath has made an immediate impact," wrote Keegan. "Sales of shirts with the pair's names on them outsold any of those of the club's male players for the first three days after their high-profile signings.
Heath is wearing No. 77 deciding to not wear No. 17, her number with the USWNT and Portland Thorns FC.
She came off the bench last weekend and recorded an assist to Jane Ross.
The Thorns retained Heath's NWSL rights, so if she returns to the states she will be a member of the organization once again.
But until that day comes, best of luck to her growing the women's game in England!
