The Portland Thorns made history Saturday as the recently signed 15-year old Olivia Moultrie subbed onto the field in the 83rd minute of Portland's 2-0 win at Racing Louisville FC.

After successfully suing the NWSL to speed up her eligibility, it's a moment the Nike signee will never forget.

"I found out about 30 seconds before I went into the game," recalled Moultrie.

Before subbing her into the game, Mark Parsons told Olivia "Don't be nervous, go be you, you're ready for it."

"It was the perfect words for him to send me out there and have me feel ready to go," added Moultrie.

Now, the 15-year old prodigy has the rest of her career to look forward to after making history Saturday evening.

"I'm so excited that the debut could happen tonight and I could get rolling, get on the field," she said before adding she wants to "prove myself in training" to earn more playing time sooner than later.

"I hope I can do what I need to help the team and help us win."

Later, Moultrie said she aimed to bring the energy she had inside onto the field to impact the game. She finished the contest playing seven minutes creating one chance and making 13 touches, including seven passes.

She aims to make a winning impact on a team ready to contend this season, her teammates have been overwhelmingly supportive.

"One of the biggest things that they have told me is to go have fun; 'You've worked for this.'"

Moultrie concluded that answer by saying any dreams are possible if you work hard enough and she wishes that message resonates to fans of hers and the club.

Also, Bella Bixby made her first start of the season after breakout performances during the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup before she tore her ACL inside the Utah bubble, posting a clean sheet.

Next, the Thorns will host Gotham FC at Providence Park on Sunday, July 18th at 12:00 p.m. PT on
