Portland Timbers forward Jeremy Ebobisse had himself a game against the LA Galaxy, and he is being rewarded for it.
MLS announced on Thursday that Ebobisse has been voted MLS Player of the Week for Week 16.
This is Ebobisse’s first time winning player of the week.
Against the LA Galaxy on Wednesday, Ebobisse earned his second brace (two goals) of his career in the 6-3 victory and helping the club extend a four-match winning streak.
So far this 202 MLS regular season, Ebobisse is currently tied for the team in lead goals with seven and has added two assists in 15 appearances and nine starts.
In all competitions for Portland this year, he is tied for team-lead with eight goals and adding three assists in 18 games played, 12 of them starting.
Wednesday’s match against the Galaxy also marked Ebobisses’ 72nd straight matched played, which ties the club record for consecutive matches played.
The Timbers return to Providence Park on Sunday, Oct.11 to face the San Jose Earthquakes for their next match.
