Two Portland Timbers may be representing the red, white and blue this summer during the Gold Cup.
Friday, Concacaf released the provisional rosters, which allowed up to 60 men to be listed. The roster will be reduced to the top 23 men on June 30th.
Timbers midfielder Eryk Williamson and striker Jeremy Ebobisse were both listed on the roster.
USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter has said he wants to give most of his core group rest as their European preseason begins and World Cup qualifying gets going this fall. Only four members from the Nations League team are on the 60-man roster: Kellyn Acosta, Jackson Yueill, Sebastian Lletget, and Reggie Cannon.
Players participating in the Gold Cup will likely be competing for end-of-roster spots for the World Cup qualifying unit this fall.
Ebobisse and Wiliamson have both played for the U23 U.S. Men's National Team before.
The United States will be in Group B, playing three matches from July 11-18 against Martinique, Canada and one more opponent to be determined.
Dating back to 2002, the United States has won the Gold Cup five times (2002, 2005, 2007, 2013, 2015, 2017).
