Battle of the benches: Blazers host Clippers
Can Blazers keep momentum going?
Portland is coming off an impressive 118-103 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night, handing Milwaukee its second loss of the season. CJ McCollum had a dominant game, finishing with 40 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals. It was the fourth time in his career that McCollum has scored 40 or more points.
Battle of the benches
It’ll be a battle between two of the top 10 benches in the league. Entering Thursday’s game, the Clippers second unit leads the league in scoring with an average of 56.9 point per game, while the Trail Blazers rank ninth in bench scoring with 40.9 points per contest.
Tobias Harris finding his groove
Tobias Harris was the key piece to the Blake Griffin trade that went down between the Clippers and Pistons in February. Now, the seven-year veteran is hitting his stride with the Clippers. Through 10 games, Harris has scored 15 or more points in every contest and he’s scored 20-plus points in seven of those, while also averaging 8.5 rebounds per game, which is well above his career average of 5.7 boards per game.
For the Trail Blazers, Maurice Harkless is out for Thursday's game vs. LA.
As for the Clippers, Avery Bradley (left ankle) and Luc Mbah a Moute (left knee) are out for Thursday’s contest.
Blazers vs. Clippers History

Damian Lillard averaged 23.3 points and 6.5 assists in four games against the Clippers last season.
The Clippers have fared well in Portland as of late, winning five of the last seven contests in Rip City.
