Best in the West vs. one of the best in the East: Blazers visit Bucks
No rest for Portland
It was a late night in NYC with the Blazers and Knicks tipping off at 7:30 p.m. from Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night and it took the full 48 minutes for the Blazers to put the Knicks away. Portland beat New York 118-114 behind CJ McCollum’s 31 points and Damian Lillard’s 29 points. The Blazers backcourt duo played big minutes in the first night of a back-to-back. McCollum played 38 minutes, while Lillard played 36 as Portland stays atop the West with a 12-5 record.
Bucks off to a hot start
The Bucks are currently 12-4 in the Eastern Conference which puts them number two in the East. This quick start is the Bucks best 16-game start to a season since the 1985-86 season. Milwaukee completed a comeback win over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night. The Nuggets led by as many as 17 points. Giannis Antetokounmpo came close to a triple-double with a game-high 29 points, to go along with 12 rebounds and six assists. Eric Bledsoe added 23 points and five assists.
Last meeting between these two
Just a few weeks ago, the Blazers and Bucks squared off at Moda Center. Most Blazers fans remember just one thing about that game—It was in the third quarter, that CJ McCollum put on a show and put Bucks rookie guard Donte DiVincenzo on skates. DiVincenzo fell down on the McCollum crossover that had everyone talking. McCollum finished with 40 points and Portland beat Milwaukee 118-103.
Seth Curry (right knee) is probable and Maurice Harkless (left knee) is out for Wednesday's game.
As for the Bucks, Milwaukee will be without Donte DiVincenzo (quad) D.J. Wilson (right hamstring) and John Henson (left wrist).
