Blazers vs. Clippers: Portland in need of some home cookin'
Blazers finally back home
It has been exactly two weeks since the Trail Blazers played a home game after just completing a six-game trip. The Blazers went 2-4 on the trip, after losing the last two games to the Bucks by a score of 143-100 and then falling to Warriors 125-97 on Friday night. In the four losses on the trip, the Trail Blazers bench was outscored 154-111. It’ll be nice to get some home cooking. The Blazers are 7-2 at home.
Clippers take number one spot in the West
The Clippers beat the Grizzlies 112-107 in overtime on Friday night at home. The Clippers have won eight of their last 10 games and now hold a 12-6 record. As a team, the Clippers shot just 42 percent from the field and eight of 23 from the 3-point line after getting out to a slow start vs. Memphis and scoring just 16 points in the first quarter, but LA went on an 11-3 run in the fourth to force OT.
Clippers second unit continues to roll
The Clippers bench has continued to be a key piece to their success including big man Montrezl Harrell who has scored 20 or more points in three straight games and five of his last seven. Harrell has recorded five double-doubles this season.
The Trail Blazers have listed Seth Curry (right knee) and Maurice Harkless (left knee) are probable for Sunday’s game vs. LA Clippers.
For the Clippers, Luc Mbah a Moute (left knee), Angel Delgado (G League), Johnathan Motley (G League) and Jerome Robinson (G League) are out for Sunday's contest.
Blazers vs. Clippers Recent History
Sunday's contest is the second of four meetings between the Blazers and Clippers this season. Portland beat LA 116-105 on November 8th. In the win, Damian Lillard scored 25 points and CJ McCollum added 23 points.
In the loss for the Clippers, Danilo Gallinari and Lou Williams each scored 20. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a career-high 19.
