Rodney Hood is Portland bound
Rodney Hood is officially a Blazer.
The Cleveland Cavaliers traded the 26-year-old guard to Portland on Super Bowl Sunday in exchange for Nik Stauskas, Wade Baldwin and two future second-round picks.
The Blazers have been in desperate need for a wing, especially since the exit of LaMarcus Aldridge in 2015.
Hood averaged 12.2 points per game while shooting 36 percent from three-point range as a starter in Cleveland.
Davis watch continues…
The Los Angeles Lakers are still in the hunt for Anthony Davis.
After making an offer to the New Orleans Pelicans earlier this week that was rejected, it appears the Lakers have offered a new package to the Pelicans for star Anthony Davis.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Lakers new offer includes multiple young players, multiple draft picks and salary cap relief for the Pelicans. Brad Turner of the LA Times reported the offer includes Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, Michael Beasley and two first-round picks.
In addition to the Lakers, the Knicks, Bucks and Clippers are also amongst the teams to sign a long-term deal with Davis, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Wesley Matthews may not be a Knick for long
Wesley Matthews has only been a Knick for five days, and New York is already exploring the trade market for the shooting guard.
Marc Stein of the New York Times reported Monday the Knicks are hoping Matthews makes it to the buyout market. He named Houston, Oklahoma City, Toronto, Philadelphia and Golden State as potential suitors.
The Mavericks traded the 32-year-old guard to the Knicks on Jan. 31 along with Dennis Smith Jr., DeAndre Jordan and two future first-round picks in exchange for Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., Trey Burke and Courtney Lee.
Marc Gasol and Mike Conley await their fate
It could soon be the end of an era in Memphis.
The Grizzlies have been listening to trade offers for Mike Conley and Marc Gasol for the past two weeks, and could soon part ways with Memphis ahead of the trade deadline.
The Utah Jazz made an offer for Mike Conley on Monday involving Ricky Rubio and a first-round pick, according to The Salt Lake Tribune. The offer was not accepted, but Jazz and others remain in the hunt for the Grizzlies point guard.
According to Zach Lowe of ESPN, Gasol is hoping for a trade ahead of the Feb. 7 deadline. Teams appear to be interested in the 34-year-old center, but await a lower price before making a move.
