WHY THIS GAME MATTERS
It’s a revenge game for the Trail Blazers on Wednesday night when Portland hosts Memphis. This is the second of four meetings between the two this season. Memphis won the first game, 92-83, last Wednesday night in Memphis.
Blazers looking to keep winning streak alive
Portland has won two straight after beating the L.A. Clippers 131-127 Monday night at the Staples Center. Monday’s victory ended a six-game road losing streak for the Blazers. Damian Lillard finished with 39 points and 22 of those came in the third quarter. Lillard also dished out six assists in the win. CJ McCollum added 27 points.
Grizzlies looking to get back on track
Wednesday’s game will be the second game of a four-game West Coast trip for the Grizzlies. Memphis is coming off a 110-93 loss at Golden State on Monday. Starting point guard Mike Conley was a late scratch against the Warriors with soreness in his left hamstring. Conley is listed as questionable vs. the Blazers. Memphis is 7-8 on the road this season and 16-14 overall.
We meet again
Memphis has lost five of its last six with the Grizzlies only win coming against the Trail Blazers last week. Memphis played its typical grind out, defensive game against Portland and allowed the Blazers to score just 83 points. In the loss, CJ McCollum scored 40 points, while the Blazers shot just 36.8% from the field and 27.3% from three.
The Trail Blazers have no injuries to report for Wednesday’s game vs. Memphis.
For the Grizzlies, Dillon Brooks (left knee), Chandler Parsons (right knee), Ivan Rabb (G League), DJ Stephens (G League) and Yuta Watanabe (G League) are out for Wednesday's game. Mike Conley (left hamstring) and Joakim Noah (right heel) are questionable. Kyle Anderson (right hip) is probable.
