Road Trip Finale: Blazers at Warriors
Finale of six-game road trip
The Blazers will look to get back on track after the Milwaukee Bucks took it to Portland on Wednesday night in a second of a back-to-back. The Bucks defeated the Blazers 143-100. Milwaukee got out to a quick 31-20 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. In the loss, Portland shot 36.6% from the field and just 21.4% from three. The Blazers were out rebounded 59 to 39 and were unable to slow down Giannis Antetokounmpo who recorded 33 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists in 30 minutes of play.
Warriors without their All-Star PG
Steph Curry will be out for Friday’s game vs. Portland. Curry will be re-elevated this Saturday after he suffered an adductor strain in the Warriors 134-111 loss to the Bucks on November 8th. Steve Kerr told reporters this week that the earliest Curry will be back on the floor is Monday night against the Magic. Curry has now missed seven games. The 5-time All-Star had been averaging over 30 points per game this season before the injury.
Golden State riding a four-game losing streak
The Warriors were outscored 36-16 in the 4th quarter to the Oklahoma City Thunder at home as the Thunder beat the Warriors 123-95. In the loss, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson scored 27 points each. Golden State has gone 2-5 since Curry has been placed on the injury list. Draymond Green sat out of Wednesday’s game with a lingering toe injury.
Portland Seth Curry (right knee) and Maurice Harkless (left knee) are probable for Friday’s game at Golden State.
For the Warriors, Stephen Curry (groin) is OUT for Friday's contest. He will miss at least the next two games.
Blazers vs. Warriors History
Friday's matchup will be the first meeting of the Blazers and Warriors this season.
The Trail Blazers took the season series last year, 2-1. In the most recent matchup, Portland beat Golden State 125-108 at home for the Blazers ninth straight win at that point in the season on March 9th. CJ McCollum scored 30 points and Damian Lillard added 28.
In the final quarter the Blazers outscored the Warriors, 38-25. In the loss, Kevin Durant led the Warriors with 40 points.
