Portland Trail Blazers

Earlier this week, the Clippers standout duo of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard shared their thoughts on Carmelo Anthony making his return to the court with the Trail Blazers.

“It’s great,” George said. “I just hate the narratives that’s created by him being back. Melo’s been a great player, he’s gonna be a great player. He’s playing terrific from start to finish. Shoutout Portland for opening that door back up for Melo.”

Leonard added that he is happy for Melo, saying, “he’s able to get an opportunity... It’s well deserved. I don’t think he was treated the right way, how they kind of left him out there being a future Hall of Famer. You guys can see he’s still running up and down the floor. He’s still got a lot of basketball left.”

Leonard also mentioned “this is going to be a fun matchup” against the Blazers on Tuesday night.
The last time these two teams met at Staples Center back on November 7th, Portland kept it close throughout before falling to the Clippers in the final seconds by a final score of 107-101.

It was a tale of two Hassan Whitesides in that game. After Whiteside had a rough start, he came out and dominated in the second half.

Plus, second-year player Anfernee Simons wasn't afraid of the bright lights at Staples Center. Simons was a big scoring piece late to help the Blazers stay in the game.
