Trail Blazers red-hot, look to keep rolling against Heat
A quick look back
The Blazers are red hot and rolling and nobody has been able to slow them down over the past few weeks. Portland has now won a season-high nine straight games, which also happens to be the longest-active winning streak in the league right now. Toronto has won eight straight for the secon longest current win streak.
Portland is coming off a 125-108 victory over Golden State on Friday night behind CJ McCollum’s 30 points and Damian Lillard 28 points and eight assists. Ed Davis had a monster game with 10 points, 15 rebounds, and four assists, while rookie Zach Collins chipped in 12 points and four rebounds.
With the Blazers hosting the Heat on Monday night, this contest will mark the start of a three-game West Coast trip for Miami. The Heat are 11-13 against the Western Conference opponents this season. The Heat beat the Wizards at home, 129-102 on Saturday. In the win, James Johnson scored 20 points.
Monday’s game between Portland and Miami will be the second and final meeting between the two this season. The Blazers beat Miami back in December, 102-95. That victory for Portland was the Blazers fourth consecutive win in the series.
The Trail Blazers have been taking care of business at home as of late. Portland has won five consecutive games at Moda Center and the Blazers have won 15 of their last 16 overall at home.
Portland is not reporting any injuries for Monday’s game.
For Miami, Hassan Whiteside (left hip), Dwyane Wade (left hamstring strain), and Dion Waiters (left ankle surgery), are all out vs. the Trial Blazers on Monday night.
